This ever popular, deeply relaxing full body treatment forms a solid foundation on which to build your massage practise!

Massage using pre-blended Aromatherapy oils adds another dimension to your holistic treatments with specialist lymph drainage techniques and the use of pre-blended oils for specific conditions. Lymph drainage techniques aid in detoxification and the use of therapeutic oils can vary from relaxing to rejuvenating or the easing of muscle soreness depending on the blend.

On-Site Massage incorporates traditional styles of massage including Swedish, Acupressue and Shiatsu techniques. The treatment is carried out over the client’s clothes and includes work on the head, neck, shoulders, arms and hands in a specially designed ergonomic massage chair or desk based head cradle. On-site massage is quick and easy to deliver. It significantly reduces tension in the upper body and it leaves the client relaxed and calm yet energised and alert. This treatment can take from 10 – 30 minutes and as no oils or massage mediums are required, it is extremely popluar with the corporate sector.

Reflexology is a system of working reflexes in the feet and hands which correspond to every organ and gland in the body. It is used to bring about a deep level of relaxation and it is of particular benefit in dealing with congestion. This course teaches the location of individual reflexes on each foot and methods of pin-pointing certain reflexes for specific conditions.

Sports Massage is designed to help athletes maximise their performance, reduce the risk of injury and speed recovery when injury has occurred. Releasing restrictions in soft tissue ensures muscles are able to work at their best. This treatment is also of great benefit to non-sports people, increasingly referred to as “occupational athletes” who develop restrictions and pain from repetitive movements, poor posture and sedentary life styles.

This course will progress the massage therapist’s understanding from general relaxation massage to being able to provide effective, non-invasive and pain free Deep Tissue massage to release restrictions in soft tissue.

The techniques used in Sports Massage include:

  • Connective Tissue Massage (CTM)
  • Soft Tissue Release (STR)
  • Muscle Energy Technique (MET)
  • Myofascial massage techniques
  • Advanced use of Friction (Muscle Stripping and deep Cross Fibre Friction)

Sports massage can be used in pre and post event situations. It can also be employed to prevent injury and as a corrective and conditioning treatment.

Therapeutic Tools & Taping – Learn the latest cutting edge, Elite Sports Massage techniques in use in the US by world renowned Olympic level sports therapists. You will further develop your palpation skills, learn effective deep tissue massage techniques and how to use therapeutic tools for treatment of the legs and back.

  • Vacuum Cupping uses soft silicone cups to lift tissue, rapidly increase circulation, release adhesions and increase lymph drainage.
  • A Scraping Tool is used to further increase erythema, release stubborn adhesions and break up fibrotic tissue.
